TRAVEL'S TIPS
All incoming visitors over 5 years of age are required to present a negative PCR based Covid-19 test certificate issued within 72 hours of departure from the country of origin. Children under 5 years old are exempt. Direct transit time to Tanzania is not counted as part of the 72 hours. It is our recommendation to get the test done as close to departure time as possible (allowing time to receive results before the flight departs) in case of flight delays from your home country.
Please check your airline’s specific COVID-19 certification requirements and follow their guidelines for outbound and return flights.
Once your safari is booked, we urge you to take every necessary precaution to avoid contracting COVID-19. Please be socially responsible for your actions and health prior to travel.
Once you have disembarked the aircraft, you will proceed through the government health checks before immigration and customs.
All arriving passengers on international flights whose body temperature is NOT above 37.5° C (99.5°F); do NOT have a persistent cough, difficulty in breathing or other flu-like symptoms; have a negative PCR based COVID-19 test carried out within 72 hours before travel and are from countries considered low to medium risk COVID-19 transmission areas, shall be exempt from quarantine.
Wearing a mask at all times in public spaces is compulsory by law in Tanzania, so please pack a supply of masks for your stay.
Although there will be plenty of hand sanitizer available throughout your safari, it is advisable to bring some with you.
Expect daily temperature checks throughout the duration of your safari.
See below for more detailed information on how we are ensuring the safety of all our guests and our team.
Passengers travelling out of the country are required to abide by the particular travel, health and COVID-19 related requirements of the destination country or airline.
The PCR certificate is only required for departing passengers whose destination country or airline require it. All other departing passengers do not need to present this certificate to leave Tanzania, but will be subjective to normal checks – e.g. screening. Certain airlines requiring a negative PCR certificate to board the plane are also carrying out Rapid Antigen tests at the airport prior to check-in. Given that regulations vary between airlines and countries, we recommend checking the specific requirements of your airline and destination country carefully. Passengers should get to the airport with ample time for additional screening and antigen tests if required. Costs for all tests are at the expense of the guest.
The Ngare lodge can arrange testing throughout the country, please contact your Safari Expert for costs and logistics.
